Guitar Instruction

Many of you may not know that Mark Fisher is a long-time professional guitarist and has taught guitar for decades.  Since 1978, Mark has taught thousands of private guitar lessons to many hundreds of people.  Due to his retirement from his “day job”, he is now available to take private guitar students again.  Lessons take place at the Samson’s Secret Salon Annex at 214 E. Boulevard in Marion.  Mark teaches a student how to adapt what they know to whatever style of music the student desires.  As with his pistol classes, he encourages the student to know and pursue the “why” of the technique being learned.  To play things consistently and efficiently leads to much better playing and quicker progress (just like with pistols!).

Mark has played guitar for almost 40 years and is well versed in many styles. He has been a touring guitarist, as well as still being a recording artist.  He has been a worship pastor for over a quarter of a century, having served in several churches through those years.  He is presently the worship director at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion (http://www.marionaldersgate.org/).   He has been heavily influenced by his long-time musical hero and great friend, master musician Phil Keaggy. http://www.philkeaggy.com  He plays both electric and acoustic guitar, understanding the differences in approach for each instrument. Here is a fun music video Mark is in.  He did all the guitars on the recording as well as the lead vocal.
